Welcome to 2024 with SmolKoalaEsports

 

Well hello there lovely readers, thanks for returning to my blog for 2024! Happy belated New Year! Hope you all had a lovely holiday season and that you are enjoying a nice January (does that exist? I don’t know you tell me!) but anyway thank you for returning! This is going to be a relatively quick blog as I have to pack to go back to university tomorrow and I'm not exactly on top of it – I thoroughly hate packing – but anyway, I wanted to just run through what I'm hoping for this blog to look like for this year and any changes I'm planning to make!!! I'm also rambling currently so let's get into it!

 

So first up, my content on here is going to change a bit, I'm going to go back to my research longer pieces – I loved those and miss them a lot so I'm bringing them back! It was interesting to research quite deeply into different topics, especially in esports, and I love being able to talk about different factors, so these are coming back! Please let me know either in the comments here or on Twitter (I'm not calling it X) or LinkedIn if there is something specific you would like me to cover! 

 

My other changing plans for 2024 also centre around being more regular – I know I’ve said that for the last two years (and pretty much ever since I first started this blog) but it’s my new years resolution – and I'm planning to keep this up through doing weekly LEC / LCS thoughts, expectations, roster and game commentary. Would it be quicker to Twitch stream that kind of thing? Yes absolutely, but I'm not quite ready to look into doing Twitch (not yet anyway - maybe in the future though!).

 

Alongside these two batches of content, I'm hoping to get more press passes and I'm also planning to cover other things like news pieces – team roster changes, up coming events (my eyes are on a certain Masters coming up for Valo currently), etc. what I'm not doing though is breaking news. Truthfully I didn’t really enjoy doing it before and I don’t intend to continue doing it as it really didn’t make me happy. 

 

As I'm hoping to get press passes again this year that will mean interviews (if I get them) will go on here as I'm no longer working for a specific site and I want to have a bit more freedom with what kind of content I can make from interviews. This also means any old interviews I have that weren't published will be posted on here instead! YAY! I'm also hoping to do more content around events in general, I loved making guides and as Worlds 2024 is coming to London I plan to do a lottttt of content around that! 

 

I'm really hoping that this year my content for this year will be a lot better than previous years, and in general I'm hoping to make this year my best year so far!! I'm especially excited to build up this blog more, as despite now working full time I will have more free time to focus on this blog and make it the best it can possibly be. I'm also excited to watch events (especially Valo) for fun rather than for work, and get back into why I love esports so much and why I first started this journey two years ago (!) that also means a look back is coming for 2 years in esports! But not sure when that will come out as I have so much other content to cover too!
