With only watch of the week, and following his role swap to support, I caught up with Yasin 'Nisqy' Dinçer to ask about role swapping, filling the shoes of Zdravets Iliev 'Hylissang' Galabov, and looking at a tough rest of the schedule for LEC Spring 2025.

Joining Vitality in a new role

Nia: the big news of the off season was obviously your role swap from mid to support, what prompted this swap?

Nisqy: I think it was an idea from Pat as the coach, he approached me about it, in the beginning I said no, and then I thought about it and was like you know what maybe, and that was how it ended up happening

Nia: this is your first time with the Bees, how has it been settling in?

Nisqy: Vit is really nice, their office is good, the food is really nice as we have our own chef, I feel like we are all on the same page about when to scrim, when to take breaks, when to go do sports, etc. it's really well organised and nothing really to say. I really like it here, they've really respectful of the players and everything is good

Facing TH and a scary strength of schedule

Nia: game 2 was looking so good, it really looked like a game 3 was coming, what went wrong?

Nisqy: game 2 was good, we did make a lot of individual mistakes in the mid game which made it hard, and our push on Nash where we were split made it hard. We need to play more together and chilled than playing all over the place, today should've been three games not two but that's that.

Nia: looking ahead, yours and the team's strength of schedule (or not) is incredibly scary, how are you feeling about it? It could be an incredible comeback story...

Nisqy: I mean with the losses we've had, it's kind of rough, we have to win our matches now - what we are showing on stage is nothing like our play in scrims. We are different on stage, I guess it's part of the process, on stage for me its way slower. Being a support on stage also feels way harder, we need to find a new way to make it work, we are in a tough position especially against MKOI as we do need the win. But we're focused on that rather than being sad about this loss, we need to use that power to make sure we win

Creating bot synergy and pocket picks

Nia: aside from your new role, you've obviously been building synergy with Carrzy (Matyáš Orság) and filling Hyli's shoes - how do you cope with that pressure?

Nisqy: in scrims its pretty good, on stage we kind of struggle, I'm not getting the best out of him right now which we definitly need to fix, we do make stupid mistakes right now. We look way worse in officials than we do in scrims, and you know being a support it's about supporting your AD so we need to work on getting to that properly

Nia: we've seen you bring out a few supports, without giving too much away, do you have some unique pocket picks we can look forward to?

Nisqy: I mean there are champs I play that are kind of weird but they're not game 1 or 2, maybe game 3 had we made it there. I feel like support is very classic, it's very traditional picks for the most part. It's rare to see a mid lane champ on the support role, if we go to a game 3 maybe I can do but since we can only do 2 games right now, then no

Special thanks to Nisqy for agreeing to be interviewed by yours truly! I had great fun getting to hear about his new journey thus far. Thank you for reading! That closes out Week 4 of the LEC here at Smol Koala Esports.

See you on the next one!
