Returning to the Orange and Black
Nia: Obviously you're not new to the Fnatic organisation but you did move a way for a little, how has your return been?
Upset: I've been enjoying it a lot, it's really nice for everything to be familiar to come back to and also playing with the support of Mikyx, feels really great. It reminds me of playing with Hyli in a way, I'm just really happy to be back
Nia: broadcast have been talking about the 'Duffman affect' [an increase in gold between the 15min and 30min mark of nearly 2k] is it real?
Upset: it's a hundred percent real, he's a very good coach and he's helping us a lot - bringing really good points to the team and making us aware of things we can do better. It's a big help to the team and I really enjoy having him with us
Facing Rogue and Defying Doubters
Nia: A lot of fans have been vocal about their concerns for this roster and the level of success it may or may not reach - what if anything is your response to this?
Upset: I wouldn't say there is much reason for concern, this is just the regular season. Obviously the SK game was the only thing that went badly this split in my eyes, but to be fair it can happen to anyone. It was just an off day for us, overall we have been winning our series most of the time 2-0 and we beat KC who were the champion of Winter Split. It's been fine regardless, we are focused on improving as opposed to regular season wins, but it's nice that our work has been bearing fruits
Nia: That was a really dominant series from you guys, game one was blink and you miss it and game two followed in a similar fashion, with that in mind, what's next?
Upset: Obviously, Rogue isn't the strongest team, but it's nice that we managed to do two clean games today but that also depends on the strengths of our opponents. Next week we are going to Madrid [for LEC road trip] it's going to be a very big change to our routine, I'm curious to see how the team deals with travelling in such a short time window and then playing against two good teams in front of huge crowds. It'll be a very different experience for us, so I'm looking forward to it - it's a bit weird that the games won't be that significant in the grand scheme of things because it's still regular season but I'm excited for it and that's our focus next!
THE Anime bot duo
Nia: Fnatic fans are of course used to seeing you down in bot with Hyli, how has it been building that synergy with Mikyx?
Upset: it has been very easy and natural for us to build synergy, I've known him literally since I was 15 and I'm 25 now, just from playing solo and duo queue. It's been a long time coming that we would play professionally together, it's exactly how I expected, I like how he sees the game, it's a real joy to play with someone of his skill, and his play style which is so special

Nia: we've seen it meme'd that you and Miky are THE anime bot lane duo, so with that in mind - which anime duo are you and Miky?
Upset: there's so many to choose from, the first one that comes to mind is Killua and Gon [Hunter x Hunter] I don't have a great explanation, but its a goofy guy who is very strong, whereas I'm the more calculated, cool headed guy - maybe that's something like that
Special thanks to Upset for agreeing to be interviewed by yours truly! If you enjoyed this content, have no fear, I'm on top of my blog (for once) and will be posting more interviews from Week 4 of LEC Spring as your girl got an interview filled weekend!
See you on the next one!
